Perry Co. Courthouse at Night - Linden, TN

Construction of this courthouse began in 1928 in the Linden town square after the previous courthouse burned down. It cost $47,000 to build.

The courthouse is three stories with a full basement and has a classically-inspired design. The exterior is made of brick and detailed stone with elaborate detail to the stone work around the entrance. Along the top two stories stone quions are built at the corners on the walls as paired pilasters which forms a two story giant order capped by a full emblature.

Linden Arts & Historic District

"Perry County Pride" is a 2009 mural by local award-winning artist Sonny Davis facing the courthouse near Linden's town square. At this spot was a long lasting advertising mural for Quasar televisions painted in the early 70's but eventually became too faded. The mural was commissioned by Vision Perry who has now added other art in and around the square.

Scenes from this mural include a boy and his fishing pole, a water fall, a double-stack kiln and a Perry County flag.

"It's Just Our Nature"
This mural is visible to westbound passengers on US412 when they're about to enter the Linden, TN town square. Over the past couple of years, the town square has been branded the "Arts & Historic District" with several murals having been added recently.

This bank was robbed 75 years ago today

The Linden Bank building was built in 1906 and after it was a bank, it also became an attorney's office, optometrist, dentist, Masonic lodge and a florist.

On July 11, 1937, Robert and Oliver Adkins robbed the bank. They stole $6,600, but they were apprehended soon after.
