Jack Daniels Cave Spring etching
Located inside the Jack Daniels Visitor Center...
In this wooden carving in the center shows the original Jack Daniels statue in front of the cave spring that the distillery gets its water from, and on the right is Daniel's original business office.

Jack Daniels Barrel at Lynchburg Town Square
At Jack Daniels, they don't just throw away the barrels they crafted to let the whiskey mellow. You can buy a barrel from Jack Daniels. Well, let me rephrase that - if you buy enough whiskey that you have purchased all the whiskey from one barrel, they will send you the barrel for free. As that much whiskey costs thousands of dollars, it's a little too pricey for the average person. However, if you take the Jack Daniels factory tour they have a hall of fame room where they have listed on the wall everyone to have purchased an entire barrel. From there, there's an elite ring of people who have purchased 7 barrels over the years, with an Old No. 7 next to their name. (Most of these elites are of course liquor stores.)
A common usage of the old barrels around the town of lynchburg is to convert them into flower planters, or with the one seen here, a trash barrel. The Moore County Courthouse is seen in the background.

The Original Jack Daniels Statue
This Statue of Jack Daniels was erected in 1941 and originally placed in front of the cave spring where the distillery gets its water for the whiskey.
This statue wasn't really built for durability to the outdoor elements and has now been relocated inside Jack Daniels visitor center. Now, a bronze statue is near the entrance of the spring.

Miss Mary Bobo's Boarding House Restaurant
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places as "Bobo Hotel", this former place to stay the night is now one of the most popular places to eat in Tennessee. They're so popular that you need to make reservations in advace, such as two weeks early. I've never eaten here, but my parents have a couple of times. It is now managed by the Jack Daniels people.

Lynchburg, TN Welcome Center
Located at the corner of TN55 and the turn to the Lynchburg town square, the welcome center is a converted and restored vintage Texaco gas station, along with its Fire Chief pump.
I am not sure what kind of wood-sided vintage wagon is parked here. It has the logo of Jack Daniels and the Lynchburg Hardware Store. Also, an old whiskey barrel is used as a flower planter.

The safe that killed Jack Daniels
I first heard about this on the Roadside America website and the first thought that crossed my mind was if it fell on Daniels like something you'd see in the cartoons.
In reality, Jack Daniels was in his office and couldn't get the safe open. In a fit of rage, he kicked the safe, and ended up breaking his toe. Like a typical guy, he didn't want to see a doctor for this, and put it off until it became infected. He had gangrene, which caused his toe to be amputated, then his foot, then his leg, and eventually it claimed his life.
As they say, it wasn't a woman (Daniels was never married) or whiskey that killed him, but a safe.

Burial place of Jack Daniels
It wasn't whiskey of women that killed Jack Daniels. Instead it was gangrene that he got from kicking his safe (which we will see tomorrow).
Nobody's sure why the chairs are here. Some say it was for the women who mourn the passing of one of Lynchburg's most eligible bachelors and others say they're for the men who sit and take in Jack's spirit.
Located in the Lynchburg, TN graveyard.
