Former Coca-Cola bottler - Tullahoma

This former Coca-Cola bottler was a state-of-the-art facility in 1941. They could produce 120 bottles of Coke per minute until 1973 when a new facility was built down the road.

Today, the building has been preserved as retail space as the Historic Shoppes at Cokers. Tenants include a restaurant, clothing boutique and WDUC radio.

Faded Coca-Cola (and Ford) wall ad - Fayetteville, TN

These faded wall ads are a block south of the Fayetteville town square. The easiest to read wall ad says "Drink Coca-Cola - Every Bottle Sterilized" but the words Refreshing & Livelier also show through, as well as a Ford logo.

Restored Coca-Cola Mural - Cookeville, TN

In 2015, a store owner in the Cream City Depot District in Cookeville was renovating the exterior of his building. When removing the stucco, they found a forgotten Coca-Cola mural. From there, they contacted Coca-Cola who has been restoring vintage ads throughout the region. On Sept. 4, 2015, the city unveiled the restored mural with the 'Silhouette girl.'

Along the Lookout Mountain Scenic Highway (TN148) is a spot where the street crosses over Chattanooga's historic Incline Railroad. Along that bridge is a pedestrian scenic overlook. The parking spaces for this overlook are provided by Mountain Memories, a gift shop.

In the news: Knoxville Old City Coca-Cola mural restored

The people at Coca-Cola have been in the process of restoring some of their old advertising murals around the country. This time, they have repainted a ghost mural that is believed to date back to 1935. The mural is located around the side from the famous Patrick Sullivan's saloon. Here, I have posted a photo taken in 2009. In addition to restoring the mural, all of the surrounding white paint has been removed (Except around the Lucille's logo) showing the original brick underneath.

Drink Coca-Cola in Bottles - Engel Stadium

Dating back to the early 1930s, Engel Stadium is the historic stadium and longtime home of the Chattanooga Lookouts. (Today, it is the home stadium of UT-Chattanooga. At one time, it was the home of the state TSSAA baseball playoffs.) You can tell it is an old-timey stadium with the way the outfield slopes and the flagpole is in play

I love the hand-painted Coca-Cola mural on the outfield wall. The mural is larger than it looks - check out the ladder in the bottom left corner of the image. The actual center field wall is the dark green wall on the right, but the coke mural is further from home plate and tougher to hit a home run over. Somewhere, I once heard it is 490 feet over the "In Bottles" and it looks like it's 20 feet tall. I can't find my source for this, but somewhere I read the only person to ever hit a home run over the sign was all-time great Harmon Killibrew

Lucille's Coca-Cola Mural - Knoxville

located in Old City area of Knoxville. this is painted on the side of a building that used to be Lucille's, a small restaurant and jazz venue.

In the news: faded Coca-Cola mural in Morristown gets repainted

The photo above was taken in 2009 and displays a historic Coca-Cola mural in downtown Morristown. The city is known for it's second story skywalk, and that skywalk makes the best way to get a close look.

This month, artists from Coca-Cola restored this 1940's mural along Main street. During Coke's mural painting heyday, they had nearly 16,000 murals around the country. Decades later, most of them have faded which has prompted Coke to hire these artists to bring the ghost murals back to life.

Coca-Cola Mural - Downtown Chattanooga

This old mural, with the C's busted out for windows, is located in downtown Chattanooga in the building that used to be the Grand Hotel. The Grand Hotel is on Market street across from the parking garage next door to the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Johnson City, TN Coca-Cola Mural

For an old unrestored Coke Mural, this one is rather well preserved.

It looks like there was another building that used to be next to this one. It would have been built after the mural was painted and then torn down more recently. Thus, the bottom half of the fading ad (below the seam) was less exposed to the elements and retains more of the paint.

Located in the small downtown area of Pulaski, VA along a wide building and facing Peak Creek. At some point over the last few decades it has been repainted, and even that has a slight fade to it.

One of the things I like about this creek as it runs through town is the old built up rock wall, and at this spot, it's practically an extension of the side of the building.
