Crockett Tavern (replica) - Morristown, TN

Crockett Tavern (replica) - Morristown, TN

At this location in the 1790's, Davy Crockett's parents, John and Rebecca Crockett established and operated Crockett Tavern. The tavern also served as Davy's boyhood home for the Tennessee pioneer and political leader. The Hamblen County chapter of the Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities opened the replica in 1958.

This is the site of the tavern of John & Rebecca Crockett. It is a replica built in 1957-58. The original tavern was burnt down because it held Civil War soldiers with smallpox. Pieces of the well of the Crockett family were excavated in 1949 and are on display. See www.crocketttavernmuseum.org
We are in East TN- 50 miles north of Knoxville.
