Home of U.S. Revolution Army Captain Tilman Dixon in the late 18th century. The log cabin portion of the center of the historic house also served as the Smith County courthouse starting in Nov. 1799 before the county seat moved to Carthage. If you look at the picture at the large size, you can see the logs in the center portion of the house. The small town was known as Dixon Springs, TN. Located on highway TN25.
