Ian Jackson Moore

Ian Jackson Moore

For those of you who follow my photos, you know that I love to take pictures of courthouses, train Stations, barns, neon signs, etc. In the Middle Tennessee area. Last September, my life changed.

After 14 years of marriage, my wife And I learned that she was pregnant. On Feb. 16, she realized she was sick and four days later we checked into the hospital with a fever. Things spiraled out of control and on Feb. 22 at 7:34pm, the ICU doctor decided to perform an emergency C-section at 28 weeks or both of them might die.

Baby Ian was born 11 weeks early at 3 lbs. 3 ozs. and 15 3/4 inches long. Despite this, he is doing as well as a preemie could be expected to do. Still, he will be in the NICU until May.

Unfortunately, mother MariLynn is not doing so well. She had double pneumonia which caused both lungs to fail and the doctors gave her a 50/50 chance to live. She has since improved over the last two weeks but she is still in a drug-induced sedation state and doesn't even know she has given birth. Even with the best case scenario, there is weeks of recovery ahead.

Obviously, my photos are not on my mind right now. Once all is well, I'll be back. Until then, if you would like to follow their progress, you can do so at:
